A little bit about my carrer:

Hi all Umea’s university fellow students, This is Sotheara Riel, from Cambodia, I am a graduate in Master’s degree in Accounting from Umea University. Upon graduation, I returned to become Senior Auditor at Ernst & Young for almost two years before I made a move to become Business Finance Supervisor at Cellcard (Telco), where I am currently working at.

My daily tasks and responsibilities:

The career requires me to equip with analytical skills, business concept, professional skepticism, accounting and financial analysis and communication skill. I report to executive levels ranging from top management to middle level within the organization. This career is really potential which can help me climb to the top within finance profession as a CFO. The job market is really competitive. My degree earned from Umea University is absolutely vital for me to possess this career as a Finance Analyst.

Some advice to current students:

To my fellow students studying accounting and finance at Umea University, you are on the right track to your career in Accounting and Finance since degree from the university is globally recognized. In addition to academic degree, you have to make sure that you should be able to look for some volunteer or part-time job experience during your study. And, by the time of your graduation, you are one step ahead to your dream career.
